Well… Tim is almost there to qualify for the clinical trial. Now that his bilirubin level is finally within normal range, he has to go in tomorrow for one more round of routine/baseline lab tests to complete the process. Those tests were done previously and were all within acceptable ranges to qualify for the trial.

Once he completes these lab tests, we then wait until all of Tim’s test results are submitted to the research team (who are not at Kaiser). The Kaiser docs and nurses have reviewed all of Tim’s lab results and fairly confident he should qualify for the clinical trial. But, it’s ultimately the research team who will review his data and decide if he qualifies. So… more waiting. At least Tim’s bilirubin level isn’t what will dis-qualify him.

It will take a few days to hear their final decision. If he does qualify, Tim will probably start chemo some time next week.
